Kit at a glance:
This kit takes the distinct honor of being the only one that required ZERO filler of any kind. I didn’t so much as have to use any to fill imperfections along join lines. I somehow managed to get joins that were perfectly smooth-able with abrasives.
Having used an Aires part for the first time I highly expected some headaches – per their reputation; however, this piece was a straight up drop in replacement. Though I’d say a resin cockpit isn’t necessary. The cockpit is particularly difficult to see on this aircraft, and doesn’t have a lot of intricate detail as it is.
The kit falls together. There are no fit issues at all. The only time I got a little worried was with the wing to fuselage fit. The fit was SO tight that it seemed like I was going to have to remove plastic. Fortunately, an application of Tamiya Extra Thin cement lubricated the pieces enough for them to drop right into place.
